I love my girls!

When someone asks me, so are you going to try for a boy?, I always answer, no, we're happy with our girls.  This has happened quite often.  Libby asked me the other day, mom, why you no like boys?

How many babies to have?

Kaeli was letting me know that the ball of veins that show up on the back of one of my legs is quite ugly today.  I told her, that's what happens when you have 4 kids.  She asked, what about if you just have 1?

Swimming with Libby

The kids have been taking swim lessons and I have been working with them.  Libby has finally gotten to the point where she can move around with a life jacket on and thinks she is swimming.  She took off her life jacket today and insisted that she could swim to the side without it.  As she was very insistent, I let her try it.  She sank right away.  She wasn't so upset about the sinking part as she was that she really couldn't swim.  It took probably 10 minutes to call her down.  Poor kid!

Not playing babies with you

Several times every day, I hear the same phrase, "I'm not going to play babies with you ever again!" This is apparently a very effective threat because the other cold normally caves in quickly when it is issued.  Kaeli, Lexi, and Libby are the only ones who really use the threat.  Naomi realizes that it is not a valid threat.

The chip on the baby

As we were sitting outside eating today, Lexi eats a chip and then tells me, "There's a chip on the baby in my tummy."

Barbecue Sauce

Lexi asks the funniest questions.  Today, we were buying a box of Barbie Band-Aids at the store and she was holding the box.  All of a sudden, she holds the box up and asks me, "Is this barbecue sauce?". I am not sure how to respond . . .

Playing King and Queen

We have a book checked out from the library about Froggy who has a new baby sister.  A little girl comes over to play and suggests to Froggy that they play mommy and daddy.  His answer is of course an emphatic NO.  After explaining to Naomi that boys don't really like to play mommy and daddy, she goes to school and suggests playing king and queen to the 2 boys sitting at her table and comes home to tell me how funny their reactions were.  I think she just may have my sense of humor :)
